BB: Pug Pal

Pug Pal is a boxing buddy (BB.) So, what is a boxing buddy? you ask...well, I'm glad you did. They are small "friends" (like stuffed animals or dolls,) that have their own signature stamp and logbook. They travel with a host to share in letterboxing adventures. The host takes the BB with them and takes pictures of him on the trail, stamps the buddy's signature stamp into the boxes visited and stamps the box stamp into the BB's log book. Pug Pal is my first boxing buddy and I was excited to receive him from Pioneer Spirit! He is a very well behaved dog, and is a pleasure to have with me while out hunting boxes...it's good to have someone who can sniff 'em out ;)

and so it begins...

I have a lot of pictures and stories to eventually get on here. (This one is from the trail where I planted my second box.) I started letterboxing the last week of August 2007...a week before I took off on a road trip to the west. I found boxes in quite a few different states, and took tons of pictures to boot!

Once I came home, the boxing didn't stop. I also began to meet many wonderful people. The first event I went to was also the first event I hosted...talk about feeling the pressure! Things went smoothly however, and I have attended other events and met more people since then. And I must say, that the letterboxing community is a wonderful one!

I have also started others out in their letterboxing adventures...my cousin and her daughters, my niece, my aunt and her son. It's wonderful when family can share in this great obsession. ;) My cousin started boxing not too long after I did, and we have taken many hunting trips together...and I am so happy that we are able to do that. Staying close to family is so very important to me.

Eventually, I will get some past pictures uploaded...but my main focus will be from today on out. I just took a Boxing Buddy for a trip from Ohio to Michigan with me, and I really would like to get his pictures, as well as stories from the trip up soon.

I've never had a blog...or anything like it...so wish me luck, and I hope you continue to take a look now and then. Hopefully you'll find my little corner of the world entertaining! :)
